Well, I don't need film because I only work with digital cameras! 80% of my work is for the web. And the projects I do shoot for print are usually for brochures or company information products. Rarely dealing with anything larger than 12x18. But I have been commissioned by a restaurant to hang photographs as large as 4x8 foot!
My digital equipment can handle all of that. I don't need film cameras. For those nerdy / techie types (me included) I use Canon SLR cameras with all original Canon Lenses. Currently I have a Canon 30d and a Canon XSi. For the Canon cameras I have lenses ranging from 12mm to 200mm. And of course I have camera mount flashes and studio lights. The Canon 30d is my workhorse. I originally started with two chrome Canon Digital Rebels. But I found them a little lacking in a few small areas, but areas where I needed to make a change. So after building my lens arnsel, and 10,000 images later I sold my Rebels. I bought a 10d and actually as a back up I got another Rebel (black this time). The 10d gave me a more durable body, faster bursting for events such as concerts and much better flash photography with dedicated Canon Flashes. The 10d is now gone and a 20d I also had is gone. I continute to use the 30d as my main camera. The new XSi is quite the camera! Light weight, and high quality especially at 800 and 1600 ISO!
